Drug withdrawal syndrome is the group of symptoms and signs that occurs when an individual who habitually uses a drug or alcohol discontinues use. Symptoms and signs vary greatly depending on the substance discontinued and how long the substance was continually used. In some cases, the condition may be life-threatening. Drug and alcohol dependence is a significant problem.
Symptoms
Symptoms vary depending on the substance being withdrawn from. They may include nausea, vomiting, confusion, fatigue, cramps, shaking and seizures.
