Treatment
Treatment is based on the underlying cause of glossitis. Good oral care (brushing and flossing) and irritant (tobacco, alcohol and spicy foods) avoidance are usually recommended. Antibiotics may be used to treat infection. Treatment of the underlying condition, such as vitamin deficiencies, can also be expected.
