Description
Meralgia paresthetica is a painful nerve condition. In this condition, the lateral femoral cutaneous nerve (sensory nerve on the outside of the thigh) is compressed and causes pain, numbness and tingling in the upper outer thigh. Causes of compression may include pregnancy, tight clothing, obesity and long term tool or duty belt wear. Removing the cause usually treats the condition.
Symptoms
Symptoms include pain, numbness and tingling on the upper outer thigh. The condition usually affects only one leg.
